A 120,000 sq ft manufacturing site with 300+ employees required a complete security overhaul. The existing system was a patchwork of ageing, non-communicating technologies from different eras and vendors — providing inadequate protection and zero management visibility.
GST Security Systems was appointed following a competitive tender to design and deliver a single, unified security platform covering every aspect of the site.
The site had four separate legacy systems from different vendors with no integration. CCTV blind spots covered approximately 30% of the warehouse floor. Access was controlled by physical keys only, making audit trails impossible. The network infrastructure was insufficient to support IP-based security devices.
We carried out a full vulnerability assessment and produced a phased installation plan that allowed us to work around a live production environment. Network infrastructure was installed first, followed by CCTV, then access control and finally the Grade 3 alarm system with full commissioning and staff training.
The client now has complete site-wide visibility from a single management platform, accessible from any authorised device. All access events are logged with full audit trails. The system integrates with their HR software for automatic credential provisioning and deprovisioning of staff access rights.
